Well, it’s hard to say if this would work for everybody using cameras as some people like neck straps lol :]. Not a cheap product (designed fro pros bodys) and only in USA whit this nice price, in UK is £65 on Amazon only, what a shame! Nice presentatio anyway and…
.
Same in Germany…70€ + shipping
What’s the song at the beginning?
its an unreleased song by Nick Perri formerly of silvertide.
received an RS-7 for a x-mas present, last year sent it back the strap is way to short for tall people. the shoulder pad felt some what cheap for the price. i have an up strap,… works wonderfully.
There is an extension called the burt which makes the strap longer for taller or larger people.
That’s why Shazam doesn’t tag the track :/
yes sorry, it will be using it more videos this week!!!
Nice review! you are upping your editing! how does the strap perform when holding the camera in portrait orientation? does the connector get in the way? thanks!
When shooting in portrait with smaller lenses it works really well. With larger lenses like my 70-200 vr2 all i had to do was loosen my brad strap which gave me plenty of room to shoot vertically!!! It worked really well both ways!!
I LOVE how you say motor scooter! (I’m not offended)
For the 70-200 type lenses they recommend you use the tripod collar that to attach the FastenR to so that it removes the strain from the lens mount on the camera body.
It also hangs better too when you use the tripod collar to attach the RS-7 too
Thats exactly how I use the 70-200, i place the FastenR on the lens instead of the body.
Hey Jared, does the part the the strap attaches to on the bottom of the body every get irritating to the hand while shooting in portrait with the second shutter?
I used the 70-200 vr2 with it shooting with the virt release and i just had to make minor adjustments with the strap and i was good to go with no problems!!!!
Oh by the way that landing looked like it hurt ALOT, if you wanna send me one of those straps I’ll teach you how to land…
(Im a veteran tracuer.)
I need to learn how to do a backflip
^ Peter (UK) and Fabian (Germany), I bought two RS-7 straps with FastenR-3 two weeks ago. I ordered and paid them straight through Black Rapid’s website using PayPal.
The end costs delivered straight to my mailbox (in Finland) came to a total 55 euros / strap, including shipment, imho that’s not bad at all.. and that was at a time when EUR € -> US $ exchange course was around 1.19, you can get better rates now (around 50 eur / strap shipped home).
Love the intro my fro’d friend….
Hey Fro… Great review.. I’ve had a RS4 for a little over a year now and love it.. Had been looking at the RS7… Now I’m ready to pull the trigger. For those on the fence.. This is an awesome strap… used it all day at a airshow with a 50D and the 100 – 300 lens… no neck strain
now with the added accessories it looks like an even better product.
SWEET
Even with a neck strap, I still go gunslinger style, over the shoulder and across the chest. It’s just so much more comfortable for walking around all day.
But man, I’ve been eyeing the R straps since they first announced them a year or so ago. I haven’t yet pulled the purchase trigger though. After this contest is over, I think I may do just that. You know, assuming I don’t win the contest
@jay Ive tried that sling thing with the regular strap but hated that you have to take it off and than get into position to shoot. Plus i hatted having the camera bounce off my back all the time it just worried me. 9 out of 10 times i just never used the strap and that 1 time i would just hang it around my neck when i was tired.
Now that I have the RS it really helps when im tired or not shooting because I can just let it sit there and know its fine. I even place one hand close to it just to know its fine. The other day when shooting the Edward Sharpe show on stage i unclipped from the rs as i was moving around so much and didnt need the option to leave the camera hanging.
Man I’d love to have a BlackRapid strap. I got to try one on this weekend. Almost didn’t give it back, lol. OK, Joined the Flickr Group, Fan’d the FB page and Following you on Twitter
You’re a classic, luv ya videos
Can we get th strap in Australia?
Cheers Patty
