Canon 5D Mark III VS Nikon D800

You always see side by side comparisons of new cameras and in this case I wanted to put the Canon 5D Mark III against the Nikon D800.

Being that these cameras are not mine I decided to do a comparison of the boxes, sizes, buttons and feel.

I have to say the 5D felt a ton better in my hands compared to the Nikon D800. With that said I have shot in the real world with the Nikon and had no issue with its feel at that time.

When I do get a chance to use both of these cameras in the real world I will be sure to bring you those results. In the meantime I can see owning both cameras. I could see having a D800 to go with my Nikon D4 but I can also see picking up a Canon 5D Mark III to start building my Canon set up.

Yup, you heard that right, I could see building a Canon bag starting with a 5D Mark III. If I had to choose lenses I would start with a 16-35 2.8, 24-70 2.8 II and a 70-200 2.8 IS II.
