Your TOP 5 for the Photo of the Month – January
Now that was a TON OF VOTES. It looks like you guys really enjoyed selecting the TOP 5 for the photo of the month. There were over 3,500 VOTERS with over 14k total VOTES cast. The TOP 5 has officially been selected and it is not your JOB to VOTE for your Photo of the Month for January!!!!
Please VOTE below to help one of the photographers be called the Photo of the Month as well as click LIKE on the left side of the page and leave a comment below in the comment box. You have until Jan 31st at 12 noon EST to cast your Top 5 VOTE.
On February 1st I will announce the WINNER as well as the NEW theme for the next photo of the month.

Which are your FAVORITE 5 images? January Photo of the Month
What a fantastic select of images we had for the very first MONTHLY Photo Contest!!!! In the past I used to pick the top 5 and than you got to VOTE for the winner. I thought it would be more fun to extend this to a monthly photo contest and allow you to select your 5 favorite images.
This is how the voting is going to work. I will select images that I are all over the map, some images I like others I think others will find really interesting. This month we have 23 images to choose from and your job is to select your 5 favorites by VOTING below. You have one week to make your selections before we close of VOTING on Jan 24th at 3pm EST. At that point the top 5 vote getters will be put back up for another VOTE to select the PHOTO OF THE MONTH.
You can cycle through the images by clicking on the any of them and arrowing left or right to rotate. The file names are all clearly listed so be sure you are voting for the right image.

Announcing the NEW Photo Contest RULES + VOTE
We are back!!!!!!!! For more than a year I have been holding the weekend THEME and it is time for a change. The themes have been going very well but from time to time you have to make some changes to keep things FRESH. Before I explain the new simple rules for the Monthly Photo Contest, please be sure to VOTE for last weeks TOP 5 to help one of the photographers WIN a BlackRapid Strap.

Top 5 from “Tools” new theme is “Red, Green or Blue”
After a few weeks of entries here is your TOP 5. Another solid showing for the top 5 and I am thinking this will be a very close vote to see who wins the BlackRapid strap this week. Be sure to select your favorite as well as leave a comment below to try and win a stap for yourself.
The NEW THEME which again is being extended this time until January 3rd is “Red, Green or Blue”. This means you can submit images until January 2nd to VOTE and January 3rd to post your images in the forum to be considered for the Top 5. The reason I am extended it is to give myself a slight break here at the end of the year. Come next year I may change the time frame and some of the rules up but for now this will be the last weekend theme for the year.

A quick note in regards to the gun photo that is in the top 5. We are all deeply disturbed and saddened by a cowardly act committed by a very disturbed person. I am not a fan of guns and never have been other than for shooting at non living things.

Top 5 From “Thankful” New Theme is “Tools”
After the latest two week theme it is time now to VOTE for your favorite images from the theme “Thankful”. Below you will find five images for you to VOTE on. The one with the most VOTES will WIN a BlackRapid Strap. Someone who leaves a comment in the facebook comment box on why they voted for the image they did will also be selected to win a strap as well.
Going forward for the next few months I think we will stretch the theme across a two week window. This way it gives you guys more time to participate and get out there and create some amazing images. That means you now have roughly 13 days to go out and photograph as well as VOTE for your favorite image from the top 5.
The NEW 2 WEEK Theme is “Tools”. Could it be a person, object, thing or something that never crossed my mind. Is it a microphone because you record music? Is it your car keys, baseball bat, pen, pencil or even a paintbrush. What type of image would capture the theme “Tools” for you?
Be sure to post your images starting Friday Nov 30th until Dec 13th in the FroKnowsPhoto Forum. Any picture you take from the 30th-13th can be entered into the running to be selected for the Top 5 and critique. Good luck and keep on shooting.

Top 5 from “Golden Hour” NEW Theme is “Thankful”

The next theme will cover the next two weekends due to the holiday in the US. The NEW THEME is “Thankful”. What are you thankful for, could it be a person or a pet or maybe even a flower, car or object. Lets see those creative images that match the theme.

RULES – Your images must be taken during the period starting Friday and ending on the Tuesday of the week that the theme ends. In this case its two tuesdays out being that this theme is good for the next two weeks. If your images are not taken during that period they will be removed from the contest. Top 5 From “Smiles” the NEW THEME IS “Golden Hour”
Smiles brought out a really steller top 5 including the same photographer getting two photos in it. I think that may be the second time since doing the Top 5 that this has happened.
I have to say fantastic job last week by everyone who voted as there were almost 1300 votes and 1000 Likes. We also had a very close vote to boot.
This week the NEW THEME is “Golden Hour”. That is the first our of sun and the last hour of sun. This light is so amazing and tends to be golden thus the name. What are you going to capture during this time, portraits, landscapes, animals or inanimate objects?

Top 5 From the Theme “Costume” New them is “Smile(s)”
Welcome to the NEW weekend theme, now that I am back from PPE 2012!!!. This weeks theme is “Smile(s)”, this is very wide open. It could be a person or animal smiling or it could even be someones eyes. You cam smile with your eyes your pecks and pretty much anything. Lets get creative, lets see some really really good images this week.

Top 5 from October 12th and 13th New Theme “Costume”
With Halloween right around the corner and two weekends to participate the NEW THEME IS “Costume”. Now this does not have to be something related to halloween, it could be a dress up portrait session or something totally off the wall.
The reason this is the theme for the next two weeks is next week on October 25h 267th and 27th I will be in NYC LIVE broadcasting from the Photo Plus Expo. That means the theme and VOTE will be extended until the weekend of October 27th and 28th.

The NEW THEME for this weekend is “Country”. What reminds you of where you live or a place you would like to go? I think this is very open ended and will lead to some very interesting images.
