Think Tank Photo Retrospective 7 Review

Recently ThinkTank Photo released the Retrospective 7 shoulder bag. I currently use the Retrospective 30 as my main go to shoulder bag on location photo shoots. What I personally look for in a bag is can it fit the hebrew trinity and is it built well.

First things first, this bag is built extremely well like all other ThinkTank Bags. The bags they make are made like no others that I have tried in the past, they are built by photographers for photographers.

Does the bag fit the hebrew trinity? The answer to that is yes it does. It fits my Nikon D4, Nikon 14-24 2.8, Nikon 24-70 2.8 and Nikon 70-200 2.8 VRII. Not only does it fit all of that gear but there is plenty of space for extra batteries, accessories and even and iPAD or Mac Book Air 11 inch. I wish I could squeeze in my 13 in Mac Book Pro but it just would not fit.

I was very surprised that such a small bag could fit so much and still break down to be so small. When I am traveling I like to travel light and still have a shoulder bag for photo shoots. You can not replace a shoulder bag when on a shoot, you can access all of your lenses quick opposed to back packs. What I like about this bag is I can empty it, flatten it and place it in the bottom of my ThinkTank Airport Security.

All and all this is a great option for a light yet sturdy bag for every day use. If you are looking for a bag to store one body from a pro body to a basic DSLR, a few lenses and accessories and an iPad this bag could be for you. Check out AllensCamera.com for all of your ThinkTank Photo Bag needs.

Edit this RAW File Week 76 – Nikon D800 Studio Image

This weeks RAW EDIT brings us a RAW File from a Nikon D800. I went ahead and saved it as a DNG so you all can open it in what ever version of Lightroom you may have.

Studio shots are always interesting. They give you the ability to tweak many different things and thats exactly what I would like to see with this weeks RAW EDITS.

Seeing my photos across a 90 Foot Fence

It is not every day that you get to see your photos hanging across a huge 90 foot long fence for the world to see. Well maybe not the world but a lot of Philadelphia. That is exactly what I got to see when my photos were used to promote the upcoming summer music season at Festival Pier in Philly.

Last year I was hired to shoot all of the shows that came to play the pier. I would supply them with images that would be used online and for some other approved uses. One of those uses would be for a banner that drivers would see in front of the venue.

I selected the five images to be used on the banner and someone else did the design which I approved. As you can see the size of my logo is pretty impressive. The only stipulation I gave them was to make sure that my logo was present.

Now I do not expect to get a lot of traffic from people driving by who somehow catch my logo. But it is always nice to see your hard work pay off and get shared with the world.

How many of you have seen this scene of the monorails and EPCOT center from Disney World? This picture brings back so many memories of when my family went on trips to Disney. My mom would be totting around her Canon point and shoot along with her beta than video 8 camcorder capturing everything we did.

In therms of an image I just love how clear and clean it is. The colors pop really well, the monoral is frozen in time and Epcot is prominent in the background.
