I chose Paul’s set because he’s got a definite point-of-view and style for approaching his photography whether he’s shooting landscapes or street shots. I like Paul’s thick black and whites and nice attention to light.

Paul’s done quite a bit of traveling and shared a very interesting set of photos from around the world.

I was quite impressed with Paul’s photo set and am only offering my opinion and insights which at times may seem harsh, but are honest and full of encouragement, so great job Dana and keep up the good work!

This weeks theme has been in the back of my mind for sometime now. The theme is “Fire Hydrants”, i think this will make for some very creative scenes to be captured. If you do not have fire hydrants in your area use something similar to that where you are.

Will you do a photo shoot with a model and the “Fire Hydrant” or will you dress up the “Fire Hydrant” and play tea with it? There are a ton of creative ideas you can come up with for this weekends theme.

Sam is trying to get accepted to Antonelli Institue and they requiere a 10 photo portfolio that is reviewed by the administration.

In part 2 Sam is showing me photos that I sent him out on assignment to capture. (Click Here for Part 1) With just a little bit of coaching Sam came back with some really quality images. I think one of the strongest images in the group is the poll vaulter.

Lets see what Sam comes up with for Part 3.

How will you edit this file this week? Will you cut her off the background and place her somewhere else in the world? Will you turn the shadow into something totally different than what is there in the image? Be creative lets see those regular edits but lets see a strong focus on those off the wall edits which tend to turn out to be very interesting.

During the concert you can see me running around on and off stage capturing images. I did not plan on taking pictures but as soon as the band started to set up their gear I knew I had to grab my camera. There was something that went off in my head that said you have to shoot this. I love when that happens, everything else leaves my mind and I get into image making mode. I start to see things that draw my attention that I know I need to capture. It just felt right to capture the images in my loft. It felt like this is my place, my set up and I could do and capture whatever I wanted. As you will see in the images below, I captured a ton of angles with a bunch of lenses in black and white and color. I walk you through a large number of images from keepers to ones with slight corrections could turn into keeps.
