TOPIC: Weekend of Feb 4th and 5th "Fire Hydrants"

Weekend of Feb 4th and 5th "Fire Hydrants" 3 months, 1 week ago #143806

This weeks theme has been in the back of my mind for sometime now. The theme is "Fire Hydrants", i think this will make for some very creative scenes to be captured. If you do not have fire hydrants in your area use something similar to that where you are.

Will you do a photo shoot with a model and the "Fire Hydrant" or will you dress up the "Fire Hydrant" and play tea with it? There are a ton of creative ideas you can come up with for this weekends theme.

Be sure to CLICK HERE to vote for your favorite image from last weekend. Keep in mind you can photography Friday-Tuesday and post your images no later than Thursday at 6:30 PM.

Rusty street drain, the salmon on the drain means that this runs in to the river.

This is what fire hydrants look like in Michigan.

Although this was shot a year ago with my point and shoot bridge camera. It was when I was first getting into photography, so it is a little rough.

IMAGE REMOVED. All images must be taken on the dates indicated in the opening post.

Tried to marry your weekend shot theme with the snow that hit Denver. I tried a couple things here. First was the shallow depth of field to essentially grey out the back. Then I worked on capturing the falling snow.

All shot on my D50, 50mm lens, aperture priority, spot metering to keep from getting the snow freak out.

Apparently it was the day the new guys were being tested on running a hose properly. There wasn't any fire so they were fine with me snapping a few shots.

I was glad I went out to capture the sunset this afternoon when I saw this.
