Everyone must abide by all of them or you may be publicly warned by the section moderators or banned by the forum administrator without notice depending on the rule(s) violated.
- No solicitations. You may not post anything that asks for money, selling of a product, etc. This includes the selling of second-hand equipment or personal sales on this forum including photo prints or books. This also includes ebay (and like services) listings and links posted on the forum. Posts of this nature will be deleted without warning immediately.
- No caps lock. Keep the forum clean and easy to read! This is the internet equivilant to shouting and will not be tolerated on this forum. All such posts will be deleted. Persistent violators will lose their posting privileges.
- Spammers accounts will be disabled immediately. You have been warned.
- Do not share your account with someone else. You are allowed only 1 account, that's it. Those that are found to have more than one account will have all accounts blocked and banned permanently.
- You may not post commission, referral or affiliate links anywhere on the forum. This means no messages that are 'commercial in nature'.
- Do not cross post to get more exposure for your image(s), other post or topic. All cross posts will be deleted by the moderators without warning.
- Links to anything deemed unappropriate by the moderators or administrators will be removed.
- Bumping posts - The practice of bumping posts or threads just because you feel you are not being responded to fast enough will not be tolerated on this forum and such posts will deleted by the moderators.
- All content in this forum is public; meaning anything you post can be seen by anyone on the internet.
- Foul language i.e. profanity or personal attacks will not be tolerated. Accounts will be banned without notice for this offense. Also the use of profanity in an user account name will warrant an immediate termination of the account.
- RAW File of the Week - Respect the copyright of other's photographs. This is especially true when editing a "RAW file of the Week". Never print/use/distribute an image that is not owned by you. Do not copyright or watermark these images. Watermarked and/or copyrighted images of these files will be removed and the poster publicly warned. When uploading these image files to your Flickr or other photo sharing service you must attribute either the original photographer or this site. If you start a new topic in this area it will be deleted without any warning.
- Search through the forums (see search tab) before posting to see if your question has already been answered.
- English is the posting language of this forum and site. All posts must be in English unless it is a greeting in a post. All other language posts will be removed.
- DO NOT re-edit an image without the OP's posted written permission. Any re-edited image that is without such permission will be removed and violators will be publicly warned by a moderator or the administrator. Persistent violators will have their account suspended after the third warning.
- Critique Sections - Do not post more than five (5) images for a critique in one thread. Make sure all settings are listed including a rundown of your post processing as it is required. The maximum number of images and the required information will help ensure that proper feedback will be received. Those abusing or refusing to abide by these requirements will be warned by the section moderators, with the risk of having your thread removed from the critique section. Do not add your images into another poster's critique thread. Be warned that they will be deleted without any notice. Do NOT post just a Flickr or other photoshare page link and ask for a critique. Such posts will be removed.
- Absolutely NO nude photographs are permitted on this site or forum of any kind, including links to photoshare sites that host them. Violation of this rule will lead to immediate termination of your account.
- Posts of an offensive, graphic, or sexual nature are prohibited and will not be tolerated on this forum. Such posts will lead to a termination of your posting privileges without warning.
- Signatures and Avatars: You are permitted a four line text signature, no more. No links that are commercial in nature or solicit any funds are permitted. Signatures that violate this part of the rule will be removed, and persistent violators will have their accounts banned. No colored or enlarged type is permitted in a signature. No enlarged or animated banner graphics or graphics that send you to another site are permitted in a signature. Signatures found to violate any part of this rule will be removed from your profile without warning. Avatar images must be tasteful and not offensive. Any avatar found to be in violation of this rule will be removed. If you have any doubt as to whether or not it might be offensive, chose another avatar.
- Courtesy in posting to others is expected at all times on this forum. Posts that are insulting towards a poster or inflammatory in nature will be warned only once. Posters that are persistent in insulting other posters or "flaming" will be banned permanently.
- Read the section description for each area. Certain sections are restricted as to who may start a new topic. That means that you may only reply to an existing thread/topic, not create a new one in that particular section. Those that start new topics in these areas that do not have permission will have their topics deleted without warning. Topics that are felt by the moderation team that are not posted in the appropriate section will be moved without notice. Please read the section headers before posting as to ensure that you topic is posted in the appropriate section of the forum.
- Do NOT post any links in any section that require passwords. Posts containing links requiring passwords will be deleted without notice. Persistent violators of this rule will have their posting privileges suspended.
- Forum Photo Image Limits - For all sections were photo images may be posted, there is a five (5) photo/image posting limit whether by direct upload or photo sharing service. The administrator and moderators will enforce this and edit posts that are in violation of this limit.
- Weekend Photos Section - Photos that were not taken in the specified period of the thread will be removed and deleted by the administrator or moderators without warning. Also any threads that are not started by the authorized administrator will be deleted without warning. Posters are limited to no more than 5 images in any given thread in this section. Any images exceeding this limit will be removed without warning. Also this is not a critique section so do not look for or offer critiques in this section. Critique posts will be removed. All posts considered for the Top Picks for the Week must have their images posted either through direct upload or by a photo share site that shows the image on the forum along with having the EXIF data available for review. Links only posts will not be considered for the selection nor will images with blocked or stripped EXIF data. Since this is a contest related section there will be no exceptions to this rule.
- Copyrighted images, especially those from sources such as news services and companies like Getty Images, may not be posted on this forum without explicit license from the source. Posts violating this rule will be deleted without warning. Repeat offenders will be banned permanently. Those trying to post images that are copyrighted or owned by others as their own work will be banned permanently from the site.
- Private Messages - All contents of private messages are exactly as indicated, PRIVATE. Do not post the content of a private message publicly on the forum. If there is an issue regarding the contents of a private message contact a moderator or the administrator immediately for their intervention. Posts containing the contents of a private message will be removed from the forum without warning, wth the offender risking suspension for breach of confidentiality. All rules regarding courtesy and respect also apply to private messages.
- Do NOT change titles in a thread. This causes confusion for those that originally started the thread and for those using the search engine. Administrators and moderators will re-edit posts that have a changed titled and if a poster is persistent in this practice they will be formally warned first privately, and then publicly.
- Privacy - You may NOT publish your email address in any posts on this forum. The forum is a public forum and all information may be viewed not only by the membership but by guests as well. The forum administration will not be responsible in any way if you do publish personal information and your email address and lose of your personal privacy. You are hereby warned.
- Posts that request or advocate posting illicit software license numbers, forged documentation, or activity violating copyright or criminal laws will lead to the immediate and permanent termination of your account. BE WARNED! Posts that link to sites that circumvent software license agreements or may be in violation of copyright will be removed and the poster warned the first time and banned on the second offense.
- Posts, links, or signatures advertising subscriptions to any outside services or video channels are prohibited and will be deleted without warning.
- No posts or threads of a political or religious nature will be permitted unless it is in direct regard to photography. Please keep in mind we are a diverse worldwide internet community.
