Do you know how shutter speed is different for shooting video vs shooting still photos? I know I didn’t understand the difference when I started shooting video but now that I do I thought I would share it with you.

Shutter Speed for DSLR video still controls the amount of light being let in but it also controls the “cinematic” feel and look of your final product.

You will notice at lower shutter speeds you have a smoother look whereas with faster shutter speeds it’s more jerky. This is one of those rules that many people follow but from time to time you can break it to get a unique look in your videos.
