A guide to "Capturing Motion" in low light situations

Photo of the Week - 2 light set up

I wanted to change up the type of photo that I showed these week so I grabbed a photo that I used studio lighting for. When I am setting up my own lights I like to try and keep it as simple as possible. In this case I used one white lighting with an umbrella as my main light and placed a SB-800 in the background so it wouldn’t go dark. I could have also place a reflector on the left side of the frame which would have kicked some extra light back into Julie’s face on the right.

I love the fact that I filled the frame exactly how I wanted to the final image to be. There is still enough room at the bottom of the image if someone wanted to make it an 8×10 final image.
