A guide to "Capturing Motion" in low light situations

Never EVER do this on your Photo Website: Not So Rapid Fire Critique

You know I am not one for definitives but this is one thing I highly highly recommend you never do on your website. Never have music that auto-plays!!!!

This is something that was done more years ago when people thought it was cool to have music playing on their websites. All I know is it’s annoying for one and in many cases you don’t have permission to play that persons music. You may like the song and find it to be the most inspiring thing in the world but someone else may just leave your website when they hear it.

I know the first thing I do if a site has music is try to find out to turn it off. You have to think about people who may be in a work environment and don’t know that their speakers are set to loud and BOOOOOM the music starts playing.

So right there I say, never have music that auto plays on your website.

This was a slightly different Squarespace Rapid Fire Critique. The photographer in this case Jo was letting us know that she is an amateur enjoying her newly found hobby. She just started her photography journey and wan’t to help others who may be in the same situation.

First off let me say thank you for putting yourself out there and having me critique your website. I want you to know that I am in no way yelling at you or trying to discourage you to not keep on keeping on. In fact what I am doing here is helping you see some simple tweaks that you can make that can take your photography to another level allowing you to help the people you would like to help.

I see exactly what you are trying to do and I know you can do it. You have the ability to share your experiences in blog posts that other mothers or fathers with children can follow. You are putting yourself out there to follow the model that I have done for myself with putting information out there. Now you just need to find that time to work on your vision.

We all know that time is hard especially when you have a little one and that is why I suggested you try out squarespace. Thought it may seem like a plug for them which it is, I wouldn’t recommend them if I didn’t think it would save you that precious time. If you had a much easier system for getting your information online you would have extra time to spend on creating your content and spending more time with your daughter.

If you can carve out a few extra minutes a day you will be able to put a nice dent into what you are trying to accomplish.

If you would like to try out Squarespace please CLICK HERE for your 14 day FREE Trial. If you decide that it’s for you please use code “FROTUBE” when you checkout to save 10% off your first purchase. That means if you sign up for a year you will get 10% off that order.

Good luck Jo!!!!
