FroKnowsPhoto SXSW 2012 Recap with FrotoWalks
What a fantastic journey we had on our way and during SXSW 2012. We met so many amazing Fro Readers on our FrotoWalks in Nashville and Austin. We not only met readers but we made some new friends and got to meet up with some old ones.
A big thank you goes out to Spreecast, BlackRapid, Allens Camera, Think Tank Photo and AdoramaPIX for helping make this journey happen.
I want to thank everyone who came out to our FrotoWalks in Nashville and Austin and you will be able to download the group photos at the link above. Your hospitality is greatly appreciated by Ari and I.

The Road to SXSW #4 – Announcing 2 FrotoWALKS
Announcing TWO FREE FrotoWALKS.
The first walk will be held in Nashville on Saturday March 10th from 10:30am -12:30pm. We will be meeting at the Nashville Music Garden which is across the street from the Country Music Hall of Fame. Be sure to get there a few min early so we can get started on our walk!!! If you have a model feel free to invite them a long as there will be plenty of people to take their picture.
The second FrotoWALKT will be in Austin during SXSW on March 14th from 4pm – 6pm. We will be meeting on the corner of East 6th and Trinity which is outside of the Thirsty Nickel. This walk is shaping up to be a lot of fun as there will be so many cool people hanging around to capture images of.
There will be prizes from BlackRapid at each FrotoWALK so that will definitely make your day if you win one.

FroKnows SXSW – BlackRapid Straps
Back during SXSW 2011 BlackRapid gave me a bunch of straps to offer to photographers on the street. There was one catch though, in order to get a BlackRapid Strap you had to trade your boring old camera strap for a BlackRapid!!!!
Every person who I stopped on the streets said……… YES!!!!!!
This video below is a lot of fun. BlackRapid did a great job editing!!!
SINAI – The American Dream
This video was shot to show off the Nikon D7000′s capabilities and turned into a nice gift video for the band.
The story of how this project came about is I asked Nikon if they would like me to document a band going to SXSW. They thought it would be a great opportunity to let us use the D7000′s to document the tour. The band loved the idea and allowed us all the access in the world to test out these cameras.
The idea behind the video was to follow the band SINAI to and from SXSW 2011 in Austin TX while capturing photos and videos with Nikon cameras and Lenses. The song “The American Dream” is the first single released from SINAI and you can find it on Itunes right now.
The majority of the video was captured with the Nikon D7000 shooting at 1080 24FPS with some wider shots being captured with the Nikon D3s. The photos were captured with both the D7000 and D3s.
What a great experience it is to travel with the band and have the freedom to capture anything and everything.
This video was uploaded at FULL RES, I recommend that you watch it at the highest res possible. Thanks to everyone who was involved from the band and crew to Greg Cazillo and our editor Todd Wolfe.
Porta Potty Sniff Test + Texas Roadhouse Video
Yes I really did get into a Porta Potty in SXSW to do a SNIFF test. Honestly the results were not terrible, it smelled minty fresh, check it out for yourself.
On the last night of SXSW we stopped at a Texas Roadhouse which I LOVE. They let me sit on the saddle and film a video just like it was my birthday.
