The Fro and His Grandma Lil – Happy 102nd Birthday
October 30th 1910 Lil was born. On October 30th 2012 we celebrated her 102nd birthday at her senior home. My dad, brother and sister in law braved the remnants of Hurricane Sandy to bring Lil her Birthday Cake.

The Fro and His Grandma Lil #92 – Watching Trees Grow
Lil for some reason kept mentioning this tree we have in the family room. She kept asking if it got bigger or something along those lines. The tree has not really grown that much but I guess that is what happens after you don’t see it for a month or two.
The monkey that Lil is referring to in this video is our cat Mr. Miowgi she always loved calling him a “little monkey”. Sit back and enjoy this 92nd appearance of Lil in a video.

The Fro and His Grandma Lil #91 – Coughing
Lil was over for a family dinner recently so we got to chatting on video again. It’s amazing how much she lights up when its time to make a video or two.
This time she got to coughing pretty strong so I had to go get her a cup of water. She is starting to feel better though. They say its like when a kid goes to daycare for the first time they pick up different sicknesses. With Lil she really has not been exposed to that many people for over 20 years.

She has been fighting off a cold since moving to the new place but it seems like she is starting to beat it.

I stopped in to sit with Lil and see how things are going at her new place. She seems to be fitting in very well and I can tell you she is eating like no tomorrow.
Everything there seems to revolve around eating!!!!

I try to go see Lil each weekend to sit, talk and hear what is new and exciting. This week I took in a bottle of Jamison to see what Lil’s reaction would be if I asked her if she would like to do shots. You will have to check out the video below to hear her reaction and see how many shots she did.
The Fro and His Grandma Lil #87 – Lil’s New Place
First things first, Lil is fine and doing extremely well!!!! Over the past few months my family and I have been looking for a senior living facility for Lil. Lil is in great shape for 101 but she also needs care that we are not fully able to provide.
Of course this is not the easiest thing to do but it is the best thing for Lil. There are people around 24-7 not just to help but to also talk with. There are so many activities for the residents to do that it keeps the mind moving and grooving.

I had to do it, I had to bring home the Shake Weight as a gift for LIL for Chanukah. It is really funny how she says how much she thinks it weights even after I tell her its only 2.5 pounds.

The Fro and His Grandma Lil #84 – Mirrors
Here we are at the 84th Lil video and I broke out a mirror to see what her reaction would be when I handed it to her. You know when a person still “cares” is when you hand them a mirror and they start checking their hair and makeup to make sure they look presentable.
Many times you hear stories how as people get older they stop caring as much and they dont keep appearances up. Well Lil always makes sure when we go to make a video that her hair is nice and that her makeup is spot on. Lil likes her covergirl and it would be great if they decided to send her out some FREE Samples. I love how she gave her little elevator pitch and changed the words around when asking for some “Free Stuff”.
