LAST BOOTCAMP of 2026
Stop Guessing.
Start Shooting With Intent.
Spend an entire day shooting, learning and getting direct feedback at the FroKnowsPhoto studio in Philadelphia.
This Isn’t a Day of Sitting in a Classroom
Watch the announcement, then get ready to shoot in real-world situations alongside Jared and the rest of the group.
Learn by Actually Doing It
You won’t just be told what settings to use. You’ll photograph real subjects, make decisions and see the results.
Real-World Shooting
Work through real shooting situations instead of staged classroom exercises.
Action Photography
Photograph skateboarding, basketball and other moving subjects, depending on weather and availability.
Portraits and Models
Work directly with models and learn how to communicate, direct and create stronger portraits.
Low-Light Shooting
Learn how to make smart exposure and autofocus decisions when the available light becomes challenging.
Settings and Gear Choices
Understand shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focus modes and lens selection for different situations.
Supportive Photo Critique
Finish the day by reviewing everyone’s work and learning from both the successes and the missed opportunities.
Camera Technology Changes. Photography Doesn’t.
The goal of this bootcamp is to help you see the world like a photographer and capture images with purpose.
You’ll focus on slowing down, being patient and making deliberate choices instead of simply spraying and praying.
DSLR or mirrorless, beginner or professional—it doesn’t matter. Gear can help, but knowing what to do with it matters much more.
- All ages and skill levels are welcome
- DSLR and mirrorless photographers are welcome
- Learn how to approach unfamiliar situations
- Get answers to your specific photography questions
Learn From Working Professionals
Get different perspectives, practical guidance and direct help throughout the entire day.
Jared Polin
Jared will guide you through the mentality, settings and decision-making process behind making stronger photographs.
The focus is practical: understanding what to do, why you’re doing it and how to adjust when a situation changes.
Greg Carroccio
Professional sports photographer Greg Carroccio will also be there to teach and share his experience photographing action.
You’ll have access to two instructors as you work through the day’s portrait, action and real-world shooting scenarios.
More Than Eight Hours of Learning
The schedule may shift depending on weather, models and the pace of the group. The critique can run beyond the scheduled ending time.
Arrival and Morning Food
Check in, meet the group and get started with coffee, bagels and fruit.
Instruction and Real-World Shooting
Work through camera settings, focus modes, lens choices, portraits and action situations.
Lunch and More Shooting
Lunch will be provided from Wok Works, followed by additional portrait, action and low-light photography.
Group Photo Critique
Review everyone’s images from the day and learn what worked, what could improve and what to try next time.
Scheduled Finish—With Possible Overtime
Please plan for the critique to potentially run beyond the scheduled ending time.
