HELP, One of our own needs you: Jaleel needs a NEW Wheelchair

Jaleel’s story is not only touching but it is inspiring. I have personally known him for a few years now and I can say I am a much better person because of it.

Jaleel’s outlook on life is amazing considering everything that he has been through. But Jaleel NEEDS the help of the photo community.

For the past two years he has been fighting with insurance companies and the government to get a new and safer wheelchair. And for two years he has been denied, turned away and passed off.

After he told me how long he has been trying to get his new wheelchair I said, I am going to help. Let’s skip the insurance companies and government and go right to the photo community for support.

That is why Jaleel is the first person to be apart of my new project “Fund A Photographer”. Without getting into to much detail, this project is going to turn to the community to help photographers who are in need.

The current wheelchair that Jaleel is in is six years old and starting to fall apart. A new wheelchair will cost anywhere between $5,000 and $7,000. As you can imagine a wheelchair is a lifeline for Jaleel and if it’s not safe or functioning properly he could be put in harms way.

We have set up a Go Fund Me campaign to help Jaleel raise the funds needed to purchase his new wheelchair direct from the manufacture thus bypassing all the red tape.

I am personally kicking it off by donating $500 and encourage everyone to help any way they can even if it’s something as simple as a “share” or “like”. We have set a base goal of $5,000 in 60 days but hope we are able to raise a lot more. If there are extra funds left after purchasing the new wheelchair Jaleel will fix up his old one in preparation to donate it to someone else in need.

Together as a community we can do something that the insurance companies and government have failed to do. Let’s do this, let’s support one of our own and help get Jaleel a new and safer wheelchair.
