A guide to "Capturing Motion" in low light situations

What's the LARGEST Photo Print You Can Make: RANT

Every week I get asked “what is the largest print I can make with xx camera”. There is still this idea out there that the more megapixels means you will be able to make a larger print than a camera with less megapixels.

Part of this is to blame on the marketing that manufacturers put out into the world.

The truth of the matter is I don’t care if you have 2 megapixels or 200. If you have a crapy file you’re going to get crapy results. You can get fantastically large prints from a cell phone camera or a 10 year old DSLR.

Sure the camera plays a part just like glass but what it really comes down to is capturing the best image possible. A properly exposed and composed image has a better chance of enlarging than a crapy, cropped, poorly exposed image.

I am not yelling at people who think this, I am trying to make them aware of the fallacy that has been created in the industry. Hopefully this helps clear up the matter.
