Quick Tip - Why I clap before my videos
Have you ever wondered how audio was synced up when multiple cameras are being used? Its pretty simple, the editor lines up all of the videos with an audio source until everything matches.
In this case I like to clap before my videos so that I have a nice spike to match my audio clips in post production. It is important when shooting with multiple cameras that the lips sync up in post production. There is nothing worse than seeing the lips move and the audio not matching.
When you set up multiple cameras make sure they are rolling, clap, take a few seconds than start your dialogue. You always want to leave time after the clap to get into position before you start talking or moving.
Try this out yourself and you will see how easy everything is to line up.
