A guide to "Capturing Motion" in low light situations

Oh Boy, the Canon 7D Mark II handles Hi-ISO Like a CHAMP!!! Test Photos and Video

This is a PRE Review of the Canon 7d mark II. The “Real World” review is on it’s way and will be to you very very soon.

I just took the camera out for its first spin at a Pete Yorn concert. This was a good show for me to test ISO for stills and video since he wouldn’t be moving to much around the show. If you haven’t given Pete a listen in a while or ever I suggest you dial up the good old spotify or check him out in concert.

The samples images that I am sharing first show ISO 12,800 and 16,000. The 12,800 looks to be pretty solid for a cropped sensor camera. The 16,000 on the other hand is a little mushy but again it’s 16,000 on a cropped sensor it’s totally acceptable.

Shooting the video at 16,000 also left me pretty pleased with the results. It’s not every day you shoot video at such a high iso and come out with very usable footage.

Like I said, this is a pre review and just some quick first thoughts that I wanted to share.
