A guide to "Capturing Motion" in low light situations

AdoramaPix Rapid Fire Critique #003

For this weeks AdoramaPix Rapid Fire Critique I selected a killer set from Andy Witt who so happens to live only 15 min from me. I loved the 10 11 images that he sent me to critique.

What really stood out to me were the environmental portraits that he was capturing on the D90 with the 14-24 2.8. I loved the fact that he filled the frame yet was able to show the full scene. Many of the images he chose to go with black and white which I am a big fan of. One of my critiques was to possibly punch of the contrast slightly but I did reiterate that that is my personal preference and he does not have to heed that advice. Remember that I am just one person with an opinion and in art there is no right or wrong way to do anything.

There are so many solid images in this set that Andy sent me, he is definitely on a the right path. I suggested that when he builds a portfolio for his environmental portraits that he includes two images from different stories that create mini stories. He will get his chance to do so with a FREE AdoramaPix 12×9 hardback book!!!

Great job and I look forward to more critiques each week.
