Sigma 120-300 F2.8 OS Review and Sample Images

Today I got my hands on this $3,199 lens at Allen’s Camera 215.547.2841. This is a mega zoom that is a fixed 2.8 lens. What that means is if you are at 120mm it is a 2.8 and at 300mm it still is a 2.8.

This is a very unique lens that no one other than Sigma make. This is the first version to have OS built in and from my sample images it really does a great job stabilizing you images.

Take a look at the video below to see my hands on unboxing, sniff test and sample photos.

Below you will find the full res sample images exported form the Nikon D7000 for you to compare. You will see in the file name which lens is the OS and which is not.

This lens is for someone who is looking for a versatile zoom range in a fixed 2.8 aperture and is not looking to spend $6k for the Canon or Nikon 300 2.8. There are always trade offs between going with the Sigma but for every day shooters shooting amateur sports, dance recitals or pretty much anything else this is another option for you to look into. I was very pleased with how well the OS worked when hand holding at 1/100th of a second.

If you are interested in this lens please call Allen’s Camera at 215.547.2841 and ask for the FRO Price. You can also find it HERE for Canon on AMAZON.
